Ghulam Muhammad (1895-1956)
 
Governor General of Pakistan from 1951 to 1955. Ghulam Muhammad received MA and LLB degrees from the Aligarh Muslim University. He joined the Indian Audit and Accounts Service in the Government of India. He was the Finance Minister of the State of Hyderabad from 1942 to 1947. From 1947 to 1951 he served as Pakistan’s Finance Minister. He became Chairman of the International Muslim Economic Organization in 1949and in 1950 became the Chairman of the Economic Conference of Muslim Countries. He succeeded Khwaja Nazimuddin as Governor-General of Pakistan, when Nazimuddin became Prime Minister in 1951, following the assassination of Liaquat Ali Khan. He dismissed Prime Minister Khwaja Nazimuddin on 16 April 1953 and dissolved the Constituent Assembly on 24 October 1954.
